Initiative for Energy and the Environment
In July 2013, the LEC launched an Initiative for Energy and the Environment to address the void in the energy policy debate regarding the ongoing legal and regulatory pressures faced by the energy industry. The Initiative offers a variety of activities to tackle these concerns, taking full advantage of the LEC’s established programs for judges, attorneys general and their senior staff, congressional staff, professors, and the broader public policy community.
To lead this new Initiative, the LEC recruited Richard O. Faulk, a prominent trial, appellate, and environmental lawyer from Houston, Texas. Mr. Faulk formerly served as Chair of the Litigation Department, Environmental Practice Leader, and head of the Climate Change Task Force for Texas-based Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP. In addition to his role at the LEC, Richard is also a partner at Hollingsworth LLP in Washington, DC.
Since the Initiative’s inaugural event on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, Supreme Court Preview: Energy and Environmental Issues in the 2013-2014 Term, the LEC has hosted a variety of programs that address these important policy issues.
