Prerequisite: Prior completion of an Economics Institute for Judges at George Mason, Northwestern (prior to June 2010), Brookings, Kansas or Chapman.
Program Description: Through its flagship two week Economics Institute for Judges, the Mason Judicial Education Program focuses on fundamental issues that often are at the heart of legal disputes. Over two weeks of intensive classroom lectures and discussion, judges are given a solid grounding in economics, finance and scientific method.
The two program weeks must be taken in order, but not taken back to back. Four Week Ones and two Week Twos are offered each year. Attendance is limited to 40 judges at the Week One and to 75 judges at the Week Two. The first week is offered at the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. Week Two is offered offsite.
